Fruit from South Africa

We just received an awesome update from our friend Rod in Johannesburg, South Africa. After our trip there in August 2007, he began to minister to addicts utilizing the 'Etsah Ministries model and the book From Addict to Disciple. A donor in Lancaster purchased copies of The Heart of an Addict to aid in the expansion of the ministry in Johannesburg. Here's an excerpt from Rod's email:

Dear Dave,

Praise God!!!!!!!!!! we received the parcel of books that was originally sent a few months ago “The heart of an addict” we are just so grateful for the heart of Stephanie for donating the books. I meet with the 7 men who are on the program and blessed them each with a book and a book marker.

Out of the 7, 3 of them and their girlfriends have enrolled for pre-marital counseling as the conviction got to them to get married and not live together anymore. Praise God!! As I write this the tears are rolling off my cheeks as I look back and see what God has done and to see the results of walking with them and to see into their hearts. I have learned so much about the spiritual realm and that is what we are fighting against, most of the men are from a Hindu background and so deliverance is one of the keys for them to move forward.

When you went to Iraq you mentioned that they wanted to print the book in Arabic, how would you feel if we were to translate it here into some African languages as the addiction problem in the prisons is very bad and most of the addicts are either Zulu or Sesohto.

I am meeting with a couple next week to see how we can partner with them to take it into the prisons and try and integrate it into the rehabilitation program for inmates.

My brother I am so exited what God is doing here and I feel that the time for you to visit is near, I have been praying so.
